ABOUT THE Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is a public research university located in Richmond, Virginia. It was founded in 1838 as the medical department of Hampden–Sydney College, and later merged with the Richmond Professional Institute in 1968 to create VCU. Today, VCU offers more than 200 programs through its 11 schools and three colleges, and has a student population of over 28,000.
